Fifth Grade Adventure Camp
Collin County Adventure Camp is approaching quickly for our 5th graders. If your student has submitted a letter of intent, please submit payment soon. The financial commitment associated with this experience is $180 per student. Final payment for this experience is due Friday, September 22. This is a hard deadline, for final counts to allow for proper planning.
Cash, check, or credit card payments are accepted. A link to pay by credit card will be provided through RevTrak (links are provided below). All checks should be made payable to Davis Intermediate School. On the memo line of the check, please clearly write your child’s first and last name and Camp 5 2023.
On the first day of camp, students will need to bring a sack lunch. If you would like to order a sack lunch from the cafeteria, please complete the form linked here.

Tik Tok Challenge
Wylie Family,
We hope you’ve had a great week and that your family has enjoyed a wonderful start to the school year. We are reaching out today to inform parents about a concerning trend on TikTok known as "Lala Bop" (a derogatory term). This trend encourages the posting of photos of individuals accompanied by degrading descriptions, false information, and gossip. Unfortunately, this trend has made its way into our district, and anonymous students have created school-specific TikTok accounts to shame their peers. This behavior is harmful, cruel, and fundamentally inconsistent with the values upheld by our school district, as well as our expectations for student conduct.
Wylie ISD does not condone bullying, and students found responsible for creating these school-specific "Lala Bop" TikTok accounts will be held accountable and subject to disciplinary consequences in accordance with our Student Code of Conduct.
Parents – we urge you to actively monitor your children’s social media accounts and online activities. At this time, we are primarily seeing an issue with this specific trend at our junior high campuses. However, for the continuous safety and well-being of our students, we strongly recommend that parents regularly and consistently review their children's cell phones and other electronic devices.
Additionally, we encourage you to have conversations with your children about social media trends and challenges. If your child comes forward with information you believe could help the district identify the individuals responsible for these accounts, please do not hesitate to contact a campus administrator. If your child has been affected by one of these accounts or needs support, please let us know.
Thank you for your assistance and partnership. We have great kids in Wylie ISD. Let’s reinforce the importance of kindness and empathy toward one another – that is the Wylie Way.
Wylie Way Day
Our first Wylie Way Day of the year was on Wednesday, September 13. Our campus theme for that day was"Out of This World." Students were invited to wear space themed clothing. Our Davis Marauders were truly "out of this world," and shooting for the stars with lessons on responsibility and respect.
Positive Office Referrals
Did you know that we have Positive Office Referrals at Davis? Teachers and staff members have the opportunity to "find the good" in students and submit a celebratory form in the students' honor. This is just one more way we work to #betheplus2 at Davis. Congratulations to our most recent recipients!
