Spring Concert Fever!!
We are so excited for our upcoming concert! "A Night at the Movies" will be presented on TWO nights this year-Tuesday, May 21st and Tuesday, May 22nd. Students are required to attend both performances. Tickets will be distributed on Tuesday, May 14th. Each family will receive 2 tickets for the first performance and two tickets for the second performance. As always, contact Traci Knue to request additional tickets. (2 per night) We hope that by giving you two performances, that we will be able to have more people join our audiences. Mrs. Knue can be reached by e-mail: knuet@sycamoreschools.org
Spring Concert Costumes
This is a reminder that the $10 for the "Sister Squad" t-shirt for Treble Tones is due tomorrow. (This deadline is extremely important so we can get our shirts in time for the performance) Treble Tones should wear WHITE pants, shorts, capris, skirts and white shoes for the rest of the outfit. (See attachment below)
I'm excited to see what Chorale comes up with for their costumes! I'm always amazed with what the kids (and parents) come up with. They should be creative! Google "The Greatest Showman" images for help.
Two attachments have been added below. One is the t-shirt order form for Treble Tones and one is the costume handout for all of the costumes for all of the groups.
Need Chaperones for the Concert
It's that time! I am looking for two parents for each night of the concert to help backstage with the kids. Please e-mail and let me know if you are able to help. When you reply, please let me know which night you would like to help. steind@sycamoreschools.org
Chicago!!!
Congratulations to the members of our Concert Choir and Treble Tones for their fine showing this past week-end at Music in the Parks! Treble Tones received a Superior Rating (the highest!!). Our choirs also received the "Esprit de Corps" award. This award is given to just one school that shows the finest in professionalism, sportsmanship, politeness and kindness. We are just so incredibly proud of how our kids handled themselves. This special award means they were the BEST of the best! SO PROUD! Along with singing at the competition, the groups enjoyed The Lincoln Park Zoo, shopping along Michigan Avenue, a visit to Cloud Gate ("The Bean"), Deep Dish Chicago Pizza, Blue Man Group, Six Flags Amusement Park and Navy Pier. Along with our awesome students, our parents chaperones were absolutely amazing (54!!!) and we thank them for their time and patience. Another special shout out to the 10 SJH staff members who accompanied us. These teachers receive zero payment for accompanying us. They come because they love kids and love giving them this experience. Thanks to all of YOU for supporting your kids and our program
