The 3rd Grade Newsletter
"Check out what we are learning!"
Reading
Teacher inservice on Friday makes for a short week. With MAP testing last week and this week, we have decided to not continue on with a new unit for the 4 days. We will be looking at and interpreting data to focus on what our individual students' needs are, working on Lexia skill builders, and flexible grouping within our classes. This will mean no vocabulary words or selection text Friday.
Math
We've made it to the end of our first chapter. We will be reviewing and testing Chapter 1 this week.

REMINDERS!!
- PELP has begun. Classes are Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30. Pick up your student behind the school in the cafeteria.
- Multiplication Facts x2.
- Example: 2x3=? "You have 2 groups of 3" We use words like this to help focus on the fact that multiplying is grouping. We also use pictures for our visual learners.
- NO EARLY RELEASE THIS WEEK!
- Mrs. LeVota's class has finished testing. Mrs. Epps' class has just begun. Make sure your student is getting a great night's sleep and a good breakfast to start their day.
A note from your teacher...
Hello Parents! Mrs. Epps and I are collaborating daily so this will be for all of 3rd Grade. Thanks for all of your continued support through your child's learning. As a reminder, your spelling words will still be sent home in the blue communicator folders. If you would like to see anything added to our newsletters, please let us know. Mrs. LeVota is working on adding pictures from each classroom of your kiddos. Have a wonderful week!
