With Another 'Way To Go'!
He Bowled His Way to Vegas!
Congrats to our State Finals Qualifier Aquin Bowler, Kamdyn Raymond!
He competed in the Junior Gold Tourney at the Cherry Bowl in Rockford on February 23 and took first place in the U15 Division! Winning this tourney qualified him for the National Youth Tournament which will be held in Las Vegas July 10-18. While there, he will be competing against the absolute best of the best youth bowlers. Currently he is ranked 12th in the nation for his age level!
If you're new to the 'Bowling World', here's a little more info from the Great Lakes Junior Bowl Tour:
The Junior Gold Championship is USBC's only National Youth Tournament. It is equivalent to the Super Bowl in Youth Bowling. There is only one tourney per year in various cities across the United States. College Bowling Coaches will be on hand to scout out future prospects for their programs. USBC will be awarding thousands of dollars in college scholarships to the top performers in each group. Also up for grabs are spots on the elite, Junior Team U.S.A., along with training from today’s top coaches in the world, and practice at International Bowling Training facility.

GOOD LUCK IN JULY, KAMDYN!!!
Sock Drive for Homeless Youth
Plan a 'Spring Break' Clean-Up!
. . . and then send your 'Goodwill Items' to Aquin!
Aquin High School Campus will be holding a Goodwill Donation Drive from April 15-30. Each student in grades 7-12 will bring home a Goodwill bag marked with a piece of colored tape which indicates their grade level. Students then return the bag to Aquin by April 30 filled with donations from home. Whichever grade collects the most donations will receive a free ice cream from Culver’s!
For every pound collected, Goodwill will donate 10 cents back to the school!
That money will be donated to the Shelly Kostenbader family, as she is fighting very aggressive breast cancer.
How do your donations make a difference?
- Students can learn the value of donating to a worthy cause and help families who turn to The Goodwill Stores to get the items they need at low-cost prices.
- The donations are important to Goodwill’s job training programs. Individuals with disabilities and other challenges get on-the-job training and paid work experience in the handling, sorting, shipping and selling of donated merchandise.
- Your donations help the community recycle unwanted items in an environmentally sound way and prevent items from piling up in local landfills. In 2019, Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois diverted over 4 million pounds of unwanted items out of area landfills.
The best things to donate are clothes, housewares, and shoes. There will be additional bags in the school office should you need more.
Every donation supports Goodwill’s mission to create opportunities for individuals with barriers to enhance their lives. Help make a difference!
