A Message from Mr. Hatfield
Dear College Hills Parents & Guardians,
It is great to see all the smiling faces every morning at the front door. We are collecting canned goods and monetary donation for the KBTX Food for Families Food Drive. This past week HEB Buddy was greeting students with fun music as a reminder of the food drive. Our goal is 2800 items and we are about 500 items away, so keep items coming in for the drive. We had another successful Paws to the Pavement 5k run last month. Thank you for coming out and making this family event worth talking about for years to come!
This December will be a month filled with learning from the hour of code to the Spelling Bee and continued UIL practices. It will also be filled with fun during our Poetry Slam, Polar Express reading, holiday parties and our yearly December sing-a-long!
We look forward to seeing you around for some of the school activities and as always, thank you for sharing your children!

TEACHING GIVING AT COLLEGE HILLS
Thank you to all who have offered to help our CHE staff with their giving tree. Our staff's giving tree displays items that are needed for a child at CHE.
The food drive will conclude this Wed. Dec. 6th.
Many College Hills families will benefit from a local effort to provide holiday meals for those identified by school counselors and other local entities such as the Area Agency on Aging. This is a new group filling the need due to changes that recently left this annual tradition without adequate funding. Lend a hand and learn more at their facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/blessingsinbags/
The CSISD Education Foundation can help you give a meaningful gift to both your own teacher as well as make the dreams of all CSISD teachers come true! Learn more about their Star Educator program.
Also, the Books and a Blanket program is a nonprofit started by CHE siblings that benefits local children each Christmas. Please consider dropping off new and gently used books in the front office or at collection locations around town such as Blue Baker. Blankets that are new or made from new fabric are also collected. November is the busiest time of the year as they prepare for the early December deliveries.
Thank you for all that y'all do to help support the College Hills family!
Food Drive Ends this Wed.

Thank a Teacher!
Every December and May, the CSISD Education Foundation offers an opportunity to honor a teacher, principal or staff member as a Star Educator. With a minimum donation of $10 to the CSISD Education Foundation, you can recognize an educator and support CSISD schools. Recipients will receive recognition in The Eagle, a Star Pin, and a congratulatory card identifying the donor. Over 2,100 staff have been recognized and $50,392 has been raised for our schools through this program over the past 18 years.
Please fill out the form at givetokids.csisd.org to honor an educator.
The deadline for honoring an educator for December is Friday, December 15th!

BOX TOP CONTEST RESULTS
With the contest tally below plus a few "e box tops" we've got a great check for I think it was $800 heading to College Hills in December. Those little $.10 donations really do add up! Please keep them coming all year and we'll work our way to another great check in the spring.
WE TAKE VOLUNTEERS ALL YEAR ROUND
1. Let us know what volunteer opportunities interest you. We'll email you when volunteer opportunities come up if you select to hear about them through this online google form here:
Having trouble accessing the form? Send us an email to collegehillspto@gmail.com and we'll send you the link or a pdf that you can print and send in to your child's teacher.
2. Please complete CSISD’s Online Volunteer Application to be approved before you are able to volunteer inside the school during school hours.
Go to csisd.org and look for “Volunteering” under the “Parent Info” tab.
OR follow this link here:
With remind & Facebook, parents can receive helpful reminders and interesting news where it is most convenient.
We share even more info for parents through Facebook for the school here and for the PTO here. It is encouraged that parents toggle on "Get Notifications" on the top of our pages. Otherwise, many posts will not be included in your news feed without being boosted with an ad buy. We'd rather spend our money on the kids:)
