Thanksgiving at SMLS
Here at SMLS we are THANKFUL for many things this year as we get ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Food Drive for St. Vincent DePaul was a BIG success and the SVDP van was filled to the brim with all of the food donations the students brought in last week. Thank you for your generosity. Students will participate in a Mass of Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 25th.
If your family is traveling out of state over the Thanksgiving Holiday, please be mindful of the need to quarantine at home for 14 days after traveling to certain states. Please see link below for states on the NJ Travel Advisory List. Please complete a Preplanned Absence Form if you are traveling and your child will need to be placed on Remote Instruction while quarantining. This form can be found on the SMLS website under Student Life/Attendance.
A Simple Thanksgiving Prayer
Thank you Dear Lord for keeping us all safe. We know we are blessed to be coming to school each day. Thank you for all of your blessings!
School Calendar Updated
Please visit the Home Page of the SMLS website to see an updated calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. You will find it under "Quick Links". Please note that November 23rd is now a full-day, not an early dismissal and that all Wednesdays for the remainder of the school year will be early dismissal days.
Stay Tuned for More Livestreamed Events
Since we are restricting visitors to the school building, SMLS is working hard to bring school events to you! If you haven't already done so check out the SMLS Halloween parade via a link on the school's website. We have also been streaming the school masses to our remote students and hope to stream to the entire school community for future masses. Please be on the lookout for our 8th graders in the annual Jesse Tree Prayer Service.
Missionary Childhood Association`
Every year St. Mary of the Lakes School collects money for The Missionary Childhood Association as part of a diocesan wide initiative. This year students will have a "Fall is Bustin Out All Over" donation dress down day on Friday, November 20th. The suggested donation is $3.00 per student. Students may wear casual clothing including jeans that day as long as clothing is appropriate. Please see link to flyer below.
