Auschwitz I
This camp was built to exterminate many Jewish People. Jews were brought from many places to Auschwitz camp. When Auschwitz first opened it was used as a concentration camp, where people were slowly killed by inhuman means. So many people came to Auschwitz that it was divided into three parts. In August 1944, just the main part held 16 thousand people. The place where the prisoners stayed were supposed to only hold 700 but ended up holding closer to 1,200. At the beginning, the prisoners did not have any furniture, not even beds or toilets. Later on, mattresses, wardrobes, tables and toilets added.
