Events This Week!

Water Week - Spirit Week!

Student Action is taking over State Road in an effort to help support our neighbors in Flint. In an effort to raise money to purchase clean drinking water and other supplies, we are going to have a Spirit Week & Change Drive Contest next week, Feb. 8-12.

Monday, Feb. 8 = Wear Blue (for water) and a Hat Day

Tuesday, Feb. 9 = Celebrity Day

Wednesday, Feb. 10 = Decades Day (dress like your favorite decade)

Thursday, Feb. 11 = Superhero Day

Friday, Feb. 12 = Pajama Day

*Bring your donations each day to fill a grade level water jug. The grade that brings in the most money will win a popsicle party!

Staff Meeting

Our next Staff Meeting is tomorrow, February 9 beginning at 7:35am in the Media Center! Snacks will be ready by 7:30am. The agenda will be emailed out later today!

PTO Meeting

There is an evening PTO Meeting tomorrow night, Tuesday, February 9 beginning at 6:30pm in the Media Center. If you have anything for the PTO, please let me know.

Hungry Howie's Night

This Thursday, February 11 is our next Hungry Howie's Pizza Night for State Road! Please help remind your students and make sure that our families tell them that they are from State Road and who their classroom teacher is. The class with the most participating families will win a PIZZA PARTY!!!

Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible!

Please continue to make the extra effort to promote, practice, and model our Daily Affirmation of being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Please continue to escort your students to/from Specials and remind them of our shared expectations while working independently in the halls or travelling with a friend to other locations throughout the building. Thank you all for your continued help with this!

I will be out of the building:

Monday afternoon for Ad Council

Round 1 AND 2 of our Observations are done and I will begin with Round 3 this week. The 'Noticings’ and ‘Wonderings’ sections will focus on the Dimension of (A) Assessment and (PCC) Professional Collaboration & Communication for our Round 3 observations. If I have my laptop it will be an observation; if I'm in the classroom without it, I'm just visiting! :-)

  • Observations - We will again conduct a minimum of 3 observations for the year (district continuity).
  • Observation Time - 10-30 min of lesson scripting and another 15 minutes of coding.
  • I should be able to access or view your daily lesson plans with assigned standards.
  • The first two observations will be unannounced. The third observation may be scheduled as agreed upon by the teacher and administrator.
  • We will have a Dimension focus during each observation (up to two dimensions). The dimension focus areas will be the areas that the Noticings and Wonderings will be derived.
