Mrs. Nash's Fifth Grade

March to Milestones

Milestones testing is coming up in April. I introduced a new practice website to the kids this week. I am encouraging them (and will be assigning for homework on some nights) to complete an activity or two each evening. Students who earn any color ribbon for all topics in math, reading and writing will earn a special prize on the Friday after we complete Georgia Milestones testing. Please encourage your students to use this website for practice.

Two Field Trip Permission Slips are Due

We will be visiting Couch Middle School on March 31st. Permission slips were sent home on Thursday and must be returned by next Friday, March 25th. There is no cost for this visit but students without a signed permission slip will not be permitted to attend. This is an exciting time for fifth graders to get a glimpse of their new school and what it has to offer for next year!

The deadline for returning permission slips and payment for our Aquarium field trip is March 31st. You may pay online or in cash (exact change only, please). Several parents have asked about chaperoning on this trip. Due to our large class sizes in fifth grade, we will have limited space on the buses. However, you are welcome to drive your own car if you want to accompany us. I will let you know closet to our trip what our bus availability is and what the procedure will be if you choose to meet us there. Thanks so much for your interest in going with us!

Ram Run

Students participated in RAM Run today! Thank you so much for all the students who have gotten sponsors or donations for their RAM Run laps. It's not too late, students can collect donations and money from their sponsors and turn in until next Friday. One of our classmates, Sebastian, won a floor scooter when his name was drawn from students who have participated in RAM Run!
