The Friday Update
Weekly News and Updates for the Fine Arts Faculty of PCSD
Happy Friday
Welcome back! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Just a few short weeks and we will be chilling with Saint Nick but until then, there are at least a bagillion things going on.
Thank you in advance for a few things:
- Cold car rider lines
- Late nights at the school for play practices
- Early Saturday morning parade line-ups
- Choral presentations everywhere known to man from the Governor's mansion to the tree lightings in every town square around these parts
- A Million pounds of glitter, glue, paper-mache, and whatever else it takes to make this season so special for students.
You people are fabulous.....and some of you are even cute. I think I'll keep ya.

**A Note About Payments:
I know that you are having checks cut from your schools before payments are being given to you and that is fine but please, if you can, be sure that children and their families aren't already paying on RevTrak first. We have had to give several reimbursements because the school check automatically covered all students but the RevTrak payment for one or two had already gone through. RevTrak monies go directly to the HC account so it won't reimburse your school account if you previously wrote a check to cover a kid. Essentially, you will just be double paying for that one child. We can always reimburse your account but it does start to raise red flags after so many of those.
A Note About Music:
Music has been sent for those that have shared with me names. Remember I can't send music until I know how many you have.
**ALSO, please send me extra copies of the music from the previously used pieces if you have those. We specifically did not order these songs as we had them already in our library; however, I am now out of these pieces and that only means that someone didn't return theirs the last time they were used.
The pieces in question are:
- Al Shloshla
- Oh My Dog
- My Little Cat Sits on the Roof

Inclement Weather/Digital Learning Reminders
1 inclement weather day =1 digital learning day. Currently, we are only operating on a one day at a time format. It is wise to be prepared for multiple days as we all know that GA weather is iffy at best. Snow could fall and be gone by noon or it could last for a week. This is just your reminder to start now and be prepared.
The expectations is 1 (ONE) 30-45 minute assignment for each class period
**A student should spend 2 to 3 hours TOTAL on all of their classes combined on a digital learning day.
Also, teachers are expected to keep "virtual office hours". Check with your school on the official times that your school expects for those hours you will be available digitally to your students for questions, etc.

Tickets at Fine Arts Events and PCSD Employees
After discussion with Fine Arts Leadership/HS Department Chairs, we have all agreed that it would be a nice, good-will gesture to allow PCSD Employees WITH THEIR BADGE to enter Fine Arts Events for free. This will apply only to the employee and they will need to pay the regular ticket price for the guests with them.
If you have any questions or concerns, I am always available to answer those.
