Big picture

It's a wrap

Our annual Wrap Night at Kruse went so well. We had around 75 people wrapping the donated presents. The cafeteria might have been loud but it was so much fun! The Human Bean graciously donated some yummy hot cocoa for us to enjoy while we wrapped the gifts. Yards and yards of paper and tape later we had 29 tubs full of colorful gifts. Thank you to all that were able to come help wrap this year.

Creative Endeavors Art Show

Every year Foothills mall hosts The Creative Endeavors art show. It showcases K-12 student artwork district wide. Mr. Montgomery selected around 40 Kruse artists to have their artwork on display. Hopefully you had a chance to check out all the wonderful pieces.

Spreading The Love - Teacher Appreciation Week

This year the Staff Appreciation Committee is shaking things up! Staff Appreciation Week will be February 10-14th and our theme is "Spreading the Love." Of course we will still celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day in May, but moving it up will give our great Kruse staff something special in the middle of the year to look forward to. Below is the schedule of events, we need all the participation we can get. Please email if you are able to help or have any questions.

Monday -Please decorate, complete and bring back the "Fill in the Blank Heart" for your teacher that is in the Feb. 7th Friday Folder

Tuesday - Day of Service. Let's really spoil our teachers by doing some of their administrative work for them. Copies, filing, cutting, laminating, really anything they need. We are seeking volunteers for 2 hours (your choice of time during the school day). We will do our best to pair you with your student's teacher. If you have 2 hours to donate please email with the date, time, and teacher your student(s) has.

Wednesday - Day of Service 2 - See details above.

Thursday - Gift Card Draw - We are collecting gift cards in the amount of $10 so our staff can go "shopping" on a gift card wall. Starbucks, Qdoba, Cold Stone, Target, Smoothie King, Mary's Mountain Cookies, Dazbog, are just a few ideas. Please bring the cards in $10 increments so that each teacher gets the same amount. If you want to provide more than one that would be great. If we have excess we will donate to Mr. Sample to use as a raffle item in staff meetings.

Friday - PTO sponsored Lunch for teachers.

Thank you so much for supporting our great Kruse staff. From the sweet notes to the tasty lunches, we can all come together and contribute to "Spread the Love February 10-14th!"

Thank you parents for showing your appreciation to the amazing Kruse Staff!

Memories To Keep

Yearbooks help bring all the great memories of the school year back to life! Be sure to order your student a yearbook online. We have switched companies this year, and it will look different from last year.

1.Go to the website:
2. Search for: Kruse Elementary
3. Purchase your yearbook

Wanted: Field trip, event and holiday party photos for the Yearbook

Help make the Kruse yearbook great by sharing photos you take during class field trips, holiday parties and other classroom activities and clubs. You can email photos to or easily load your photos to our Kruse Yearbook Google Drive.

You don't have to be a pro to share your photos! The more photos we get the better yearbook your child gets!

January Staff Highlight

Lindsay Rielly is our current treasurer. She's one of the many people that act behind the scenes but is necessary to keep our PTO going.

This is her second year acting as treasurer and being part of the PTO. When asked what drew her to the PTO and the treasurer position she said, "The treasurer position is one that is flexible with my work schedule, it allows me to contribute in some way, and it doesn't require me to have good handwriting or be at all artistic."

During the winter Lindsay and her family loves to ski, she said her daughter is just getting good at it. They also like spending some down time together just hanging out and playing plenty of Uno.

Thanks Lindsay for making the PTO part of your busy life!

We need you!

Lindsay Reilly our current treasurer will be transitioning out of her treasurer role this coming school year. We are looking for our next Kruse PTO Treasurer. She will stay on for the 2020-2021 year and work with the new treasurer to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Do you want to find a way to be involved that is super flexible?
  • Do you have bookkeeping experience or have a knack for numbers?

You don't have to be a CPA to take on this role (Lindsay isn't a CPA, she's a lawyer). Have more questions? Want more information about the position? Contact us at
