News from Central Office
Elkhart County Retired Teachers Association (ECRTA) typically offers a Fall Teacher Retirement Planning Seminar. However, due to several factors they are recommending this year that certified employees attend the workshops sponsored by the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS). The website contains a listing of available workshops around the state and individuals can sign up for individual sessions with a regional representative. The next local workshop is scheduled for October 10, 2017 at either 1:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Goshen Administration Center. See the attached announcement.
NOTE: These INPRS workshops are also open to classified staff who are PERF eligible.
Graduate Studies Information Sessions
In continued pursuit of finding and preparing promising future educators, counselors and education leaders, the School of Education at IU South Bend will, once again, offer our First Tuesday Graduate Programs Information Sessions this year. The attached schedule will detail the featured Graduate programs, time and locations.
The first information session, offered on Tuesday, October 3rd, will feature the Transition to Teaching (T2T) program for Elementary teacher licensing. A professor will answer questions about this alternate route to Indiana teacher licensing for individuals with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than education.
