What's coming in December!
Thanksgiving Break!
This has been a busy time, and we are all looking forward to our Thanksgiving holiday. Please check your child's folder for a note regarding our upcoming party, a gingerbread family craft, a book club note and order form, and a set of letters for your child to review for the 2nd nine weeks. If possible, take a couple of minutes each day, going over the letters on the page, to help your child retain what they have learned so far this year. Also, they are bringing home a Fall Scavenger Hunt paper that they can try to spy things with while they are on vacation. This scavenger hunt is by no means homework, but something that they can do to keep themselves occupied and have fun with, looking for fall objects. We hope each and everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday...

Book Club Time!
In January, we will begin our first book club. I am sending home a book order form, that has a great selection of books that your child would enjoy. Periodically throughout the year, if I find a good book that will tie into our teaching units, and costs $1, I request that everyone orders one, for us to do activities with in class, and when finished, they are able to take them home to keep. The book that I selected is called One Mitten and I have circled it on the order form. Since we will use it soon after we return from Christmas Break, I am placing the order on December 2nd, so that It can be delivered before our holiday begins. While doing our book study, we will learn about authors, illustrators, the parts of a book, and also how to begin "reading" by using our picture clues. Also, we will search for letters that we have learned, and also introduce new letters during that time. The students love book club, I can't wait for it to begin!
