First and Second Grade AIM
Today in AIM
Yesterday we once again squeezed in some extra AIM time to make up for missed days! We spent about 30 minutes working on using integer chips to explore subtracting integers and then paid our bills and balanced our check books. We are deep into our second project for our Egyptian museum and I love the way this project is coming together for us. While each group is responsible for a different part of the museum (we are currently working on art, jewelry, and writing and a little bit on an ebook) its really more about learning how to manage the project that is more valuable to me. They have the content and need to decide what is important and how to create an engaging display for our audience - I am not making the decisions for them. This "freedom" is a little stressful and exciting at the same time. Coming to consensus is challenging at any age but they are doing a great job of listening to each other and playing off each others strengths. During the end of the day Adam shared a Hanukah goodie bag - thank you!
