Summer Titan Talk

A Message From the Principal
Happy Summer Titans,
We had another successful year and I am so proud of all we have accomplished together. It gives me great joy to see how our school continues to rise each year. I look forward to the adventures yet to come!
My summer wish is for our Titans to continue to R.I.S.E. Up!
- R - Read, Read, Read! Read a good book or 10 good books. Bring a novel to the beach, a magazine to the pool, or even listen to an audiobook on a car ride as you travel as a family! Make reading a family summer fun activity. Bring the bookmark back this summer!
- I - Imagine, Inspire and Inquire: Go places and do things this summer that inspire you. Climb a tree and image what it would be like to live in a foreign land. Find a new hobby, get outside, and do something that makes you think outside the box!
- S - Spend time with family. Enjoy the sunshine and go swimming or to a spray-ground. Get some rest and relax. All students, parents, teachers, and staff deserve to rest and relax. You worked hard this year, Titans!
- E - Enjoy, Engage and Energize! Reboot your battery over the summer by engaging in activities that you enjoy. We will be eager to have our Titans back, refreshed and ready to learn when we see you after summer vacation!
As we head off to summer, we say farewell to Titans heading off to new and exciting adventures. Congratulations to Dr. Beverly Brown on her retirement. Thank you for your 32 years of service and for all you have done for the students of Elkins Pointe. Also, congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Okiyama on her FCS promotion. We will miss you and we know you are going to do great things as a Literacy Coach. Some teachers will be heading off to trek around the world, finish a Master Degree, start a family, and move to new positions closer home. We wish you all the very best, and just know that you take a little piece of Titan with you wherever you go!
To our newly promoted high schoolers who will be heading off to Milton and Roswell High Schools, we know that you are ready and you will continue to make us Titan proud! Come back and visit, volunteer, and let us know about your accomplishments...you need not wait until the Grad Walk of 2022!
Sincerely,
Kindra L. Smith, Ed.S

Farewell Dr. Brown!
"Someday Retirement Will Come," serenaded Mrs. Georgia Bickel and Principal Smith to Dr. Brown. Department Chair. Mr. Todd Wilson presented one of "Snow White and Seven Dwarves" themed gifts to Dr. Brown. Dr. Brown loves Disney, Alabama, and Elkins Pointe. Dr. Brown, we wish you a magical retirement. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your 32 years in education and for being our AP! The best way to improve your child's reading and math skill over the summer is to have your child access i-Ready for math and reading 2-3 days a week for about 20-25 minutes a day.
