What's New This Week?
Our main story selection this week is titled Officer Buckle and Gloria, a fiction text. In Lesson 15 our Essential Question is “What might cause a story character to change?” Target skills are cause & effect, compound words, abbreviations, and the schwa vowel sound.
VERY EXCITING! We will have a real live "Officer Buckle and Gloria" come visit us this week. Mrs. Swenson's husband, a canine officer, will be coming!

We will begin Topic 9, subtracting two digit numbers. Tricky, tricky as we subtract numbers with regrouping. **** We will have our Topic 8 (adding 2 digit numbers) on Tuesday.

Father Daughter Dance
Tickets are now available for the Father Daughter Dance and can be purchased on the HSA website (school store section, click here.) Also carnation wristlets will be available (three mini white carnations, baby’s breath and gold ribbon will be sold at the RHHSA school store as well, for 10 dollars each. So don’t forget to order one when purchasing tickets.) The Deadline for all sales is January 18th.

Please keep in mind volunteer clearances will be required should you wish to attend our field trip. CR Volunteer Clearances Protocols - Effective July 25, 2015, the costs for VOLUNTEER background checks at the state level (PA Child Abuse Report and PA State Criminal Report) will be waived. The third background check, the Federal Criminal Report (FBI Fingerprinting), will remain in effect in accordance with the previously published guidelines and costs. For volunteers that have lived in Pennsylvania for ten (10) years or more, Pennsylvania will allow a waiver of this FBI fingerprinting with a signed CR Volunteer Disclosure Form.
