A Month of Resilience

Big picture
This is one of those weeks where it was so wonderful to see the number of diverse topics being covered around the school at any one given time. You could see mathematical modeling of unit - rate conversions, DJembe drum beating, a tour of the Louisiana Bayous, dissecting the appropriate use of the semi-colon, student-lead book club conferences, analyzing metaphors within poetry, the exploration of human body systems, an inquiry-based dialogue of how gravity impacts our universe, the creation of lithogram-like artwork, conversations about real-life examples of resilience, children learning through play, and so much more. A snapshot like this really builds excitement for all the things our students get to experience each day! Next week, our 5th grade kicks off their annual Wellness Project, our Chorus classes will host an in-school performance, and the school will be filled with a whole album of the snapshots described above!
