2020 Graduation (May 24th at 6:30 p.m.)

Last May the Superintendent's Advisory Council (SAC) determined that the Class of 2020 and their families should decide when to have their graduation ceremony. This was due to the fact that the traditional date of Saturday on Memorial Day weekend was in conflict with regional Baseball, Girls State Soccer, and the State Track and Field meet. Our goal was to not force students/athletes to choose between graduation or state events. With letters to the Class of 2020 families and follow-up phone conversations graduation has been set for Sunday, May 24th, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.

School and Career Counselor

We are excited to announce the addition of a School and Career Counselor here at Grand Valley High School. Mrs. Jaime Mayfield will be transitioning from the Learning Lab where she played an integral part in building the credit recovery program to what it is today. The structures and systems put in place by Mrs. Mayfield were designed with sustainability in mind. This speaks to her passion, determination, and drive to help all students reach their goals and succeed, not just today, but tomorrow and beyond. Mrs. Mayfield brings with her a wealth of knowledge. She has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Masters of Education in Instructional Design and Technology, a Masters of Arts in Counseling, and a Masters in Administration.

Mrs. Mayfield's characteristics and knowledge base make her a perfect fit as our School and Career Counselor. She will be coordinating and supporting students with graduation, scholarships, college applications, career pathways, counseling services and whatever students need to be successful long term.

We are excited to have Mrs. Mayfield in the position of School and Career Counselor, simply put she makes us all better and most importantly, students gain the advantage!
