Oakland-Craig Elementary Newsletter - March
We have hired two new staff members at Oakland-Craig. April Lutz has been hired to serve as our Elementary Principal for the 2021-2022 school year. Ms. Lutz is a native of Benkelman, NE and a 2014 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Ms. Lutz has taught grades 2, 3, and 5 and is currently building principal at Nettie Hartnett Education Center located in Leavenworth, Kansas. MacKenzie Charling has accepted an elementary teaching position at O-C as well. MacKenzie resides in Oakland with her husband Quinn and their daughter Micah (15 months). MacKenzie has experience teaching special education and 1st grade previously at Wisner-Pilger. We are excited to welcome both of these ladies to O-C in the fall!
As you know, we have had several snow/cold days this school year. Typically we are required to be in school 1,032 hours per Rule 10; however, due to the pandemic the state is allowing waivers for anybody not able to meet that hour requirement. With that said, we still want to make sure we are getting through our curriculum, especially since we were out of school last spring. As of now, we aren't planning to make up any days; however, that could change. We will let you know of any changes to the calendar if that is the case.
We have several days off this month. Please be sure to check out the "Upcoming Events" below and mark your calendars.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
