The Light Bulb
Thomas Edison actually did not invent the light bulb. 'He innovated the 50 year old idea. In 1879, using lower current electricity, a small carbonized filament, and an improved vacuum inside the globe, he was able to produce a reliable, long-lasting source of light. This was not the first source of light ever made but in fact the most reliable at the time. This is how Thomas became so famous.
Why was his light bulb useful?
His innovation was very useful! His innovation why we have three, 8 hour shifts of work. With out the light bulb people could not work at night efficiently.
