School of Choice is now open for applications. Who should consider applying?
If you recently moved or are planning a move outside of Mountain Range High School’s boundaries and would like to remain at Mountain Range High School for the school year 21-22 and beyond, we invite you to apply for CHOICE. When applying please make sure to select “Have moved or are anticipating a move and want to stay at current school”.
If you are currently enrolled at a Charter School in Adams 12 Five Star Schools and want to return to your neighborhood school for the 21-22 school year and beyond.
If you would like to come to Mountain Range High School instead of your boundary school.

Pursue a Seal of Biliteracy
Are you proficient in English and another language? Apply for the Seal of Biliteracy to be awarded a diploma endorsement in biliteracy.
What is the Seal of Biliteracy?
The State of Colorado passed Senate Bill 17-123, enabling school districts to award a diploma endorsement in biliteracy to any graduate who attains proficiency in English and another language. Earning the seal of biliteracy recognizes students for their dedication to learning multiple languages and cultures. More Info
How do I apply?
Applications for students graduating in 2021 are due January 6, 2021. The application can be found here and submitted to your teacher. Please contact your World Language or English Language Development teacher with questions.

Virtual Hour of Code Event
mindSpark Learning and Accenture are hosting their first ever virtual Hour of Code event for K-12 students, parents, and educators to join during Computer Science Education Week, December 7-12, 2020! Have fun by participating in computer science games and activities, and hearing from diverse speakers at the Hour of Code Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 4:30-6:30pm MT.
Featuring Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, and the 2020 U.S. Chambers of Commerce Young Entrepreneur and Adams 12 student, Jack Bonneau, as guest speakers.
Join in on the fun with CS experts hosting virtual activities and games for everyone to enjoy! Come learn about computer science with Moana, Dash’s Neighborhood, and Sphero or jump into an activity with students from Colorado School of Mines.
50 participants will win a prize including: Dash robot, Cue robot, Sphero mini robot, Little Bits, Zumi Machine Learning Robot, and more!

Rotary Club of Northglenn-Thornton Scholarship Opportunity!
The Rotary Club of Northglenn-Thornton wants to get the word out that they are still doing scholarships this year! We understand that COVID has been a struggle for everyone, but they are here to help. They have a variety of Scholarships that total $15000-$20000. The Deadline to enter is February 22nd. CFLA Do Good December Sock drive for Colorado Coalition for the Homeless
THE MRHS Chick fil A Leader Academy will be collecting NEW socks to donate to the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless Dec 7th-15th.
Socks are the number 1 item requested by those that work with the Homeless.
We encourage people to be involved in one of two ways...
1. Donate socks at the Main Entrance to MRHS High School between 8am and 3pm each day. There will be a contactless drop off location at the Main Entrance to the school.
These socks will be directly donated to Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and Chick fil A will be providing lunch for the staff and volunteers at their Champa Street Location
2. For those not wishing to leave home we encourage you to visit and purchase socks at Bombas Socks as each sock purchase provides a free pair of socks to homeless shelters across the USA.

Mountain Range is looking for new members to join the Winter Guard!
While many things are cancelled due to Covid-19, Winter Guard is still going! While the season is going to look a little different, you will still make super fun memories and meet new people, and compete with surrounding schools!

Winter Sports/CHSAA Season B Update
Girls Basketball Information
Do you enjoy watching or playing basketball? Would you like to be a part of a program that promotes family and team in their culture and values? Then consider joining girls basketball for Mountain Range HS!
We have voluntary workouts/OpenGym every Mon/Wed/Fri at Mountain Range HS main gym from 6-7:30pm. Come work on your individual and team skills for basketball, but more importantly, for life!
We have a safe and sanitized environment that allows us to prepare for our upcoming season. We play in the 5A Front Range league, which is one of the most competitive leagues for girls basketball in the entire state!

ATTENTION: Mountain Range athletes interested in wrestling!
We will conduct weight certification on Tuesday, December 8th at 4 pm in the MRHS training room. This process is required by CHSAA and includes a weigh-in, BMI calculations and a hydration test to determine the minimum competition weight for the upcoming season. Athletes must wear a face covering for this process. Please contact Coach Sandman (todd.m.sandman@adams12.org) if you have any questions about weight certification or the upcoming wrestling season.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
The start of the Swimming and Diving season is just around the corner, and we’re looking for students who value hard-work, are enthusiastic about supporting their teammates, and are motivated to aim high to achieve their goals. At Mountain Range, we welcome all swimmers and divers, including beginners, summer league competitors, and experienced year-round athletes. Swimming and diving are two sports that will teach you many skills that will help you on and off the pool deck, such as work ethic, self-motivation, camaraderie, time management, leadership, and much more.
