Tomahawk Middle School Newsletter

May/June 2015

It has been my honor......

As many of you know I've accepted another principal position with the Merrill School District. This acceptance of this position is bittersweet, it will allow me the opportunity to be the principal at my children's elementary school. However, I have enjoyed everyday these past two years being the principal of your children. Tomahawk Middle School has great students and a wonderful staff, I have learned so much and have so many great memories.

Please know that I wish each and every student a bright, happy, and healthy future!

Mr. Paul Kurth, the new principal, is very lucky to have such a talented group of students in his new building!

7th Grade Field Trip to Nicolet College - Career Exploration

Year Book Distribution

Yearbooks will be distributed May 22 during team. If students did not purchase a yearbook, there will be some for sale during team time. The cost is $20. Checks should be made payable to TMS.

Chrome Book Collection

We will start collecting chrome books on Tuesday, June 2nd for the 8th grade students and on Wednesday, June 3rd for the 7th grade students.

The homeroom teacher along with the student will fill out a form to check the chrome book for any damage. It is important that the student also bring in the charger that was issued with the chrome book. If the charging cord is not returned a $25 fee will be charged for replacement. The middle school office has charging cords available for purchase.

Good luck to Betsy Hall at State Special Olympics! She will be competing in the 100 meter run and the standing long jump events!

7th Grade Living Museum

On Tuesday, June 2nd from 2:00-3:00 pm the 7th graders will be presenting information on the historical events they have been researching. Their “Living Museum” will be filled with interactive exhibits. Parents are welcome to attend! Exhibits will be displayed in the 7th grade classrooms, hallway and library area.

Greetings from the Middle School Physical Education Department

Soon we will be getting ready to do our year end fitness testing. This includes our “Beat the Record” days in which all of our students will be given the chance to break our school fitness records. These records are separate for each grade and broken down by gender. We have had some outstanding performances over the past couple of years and we are excited to see what happens this year. We will be giving out awards for top event performances and record breakers for each grade level at the middle school end of the year awards.

We will be finishing our year with some outdoor units. Hopefully Mother Nature will be kind to us.

Remember to take advantage of all of the opportunities that our area has to offer this summer and stay active!!!

This is just the start of your child's musical adventures .
