How would you like it if your family was being kicked out your homes to live in tents for more than a year ? That would make you mad wouldn't it , but heres some information about this time and period.
WHAT HAPPENED ?
African Americans in Fayette and Haywood Counties Fought for their right to vote.
WHO WERE THE PEOPLE ?
African Americans in Fayette and Haywood counties , Burton Dudson , Barry Gray.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN ?
It Happened so African Americans can vote .
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN ?
It Happened In 1959 - 1965 During The Civil Rights Movement .
WHERE DID IT HAPPEN ?
It Happened In Fayette and Haywood County In Nashville , TN
INCONVENIENCES FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICANS
Many WHITE Men didn't want to BUSINESS with BLACK people which meant they couldn't buy gas , groceries , or go to the doctor ( in Fayette and Haywood County so they had to drive or walk to Memphis ) .
WHATS GOING ON THIS DAY AND TIME
This Day and Time we can vote because ......... The Voting Rights Act was enforced in the late 1960's. And now my parents and family who are African Americans can vote !
