A Message from the Principal
Let the fun begin! The Red Eagle is so excited to kick off this weekend of "scares" with you at our BOO BASH!!! I hope to see you this evening for some fun. Thank you, Christy Gernhofer, the Boo Bash committee and the APT for your hard work putting this spooktacular evening together. I hope you spend some extra time with your families this weekend. Enjoy carving that extra pumpkin together, eat that extra piece of candy or maybe create a new family tradition.

Halloween Details
We are excited to bring back costumes and our Halloween parade on Monday, October 31 at 9:45am. Students will be doing a loop around the field and showing off their amazing costumes. We hope you will join us! Please remember these costume parameters::
No gore or blood
No weapons
No masks
Children must be able to sit down
Costumes must not be distracting to learning (we reserve the right to ask a child to take off a costume if it is districting the learning of themselves or others)
School Pictures
All fall school pictures taken are now available for families to view online.
Last chance to choose your Yearbook/Composite Class Picture
Families - View your School Portraits, and select your yearbook/class picture* before the deadline:
To view your school portraits look for an email sent to you by “Visual Image Photography”, or go to vipis.com (student ID number may be required)
Selection Deadline: 11/3/2022
After the final deadline, VIP will choose a yearbook image for you.
There is no deadline to order pictures. If you have questions, please email support@vipis.com
Absenteeism and Tardies
Be on the lookout for an email coming soon to let you know your child's number of days absent and tardy compared to the grade level average. As attendance at school is directly correlated with academic success, this is a priority for me. Please also note that students need to be in their seats by 8:00am so consider arriving at least by 7:55am to ensure they are not being marked tardy. Thank you!

District Updates
Deerpath Rd Closed Between Ahwahnee and Rte 41
Fri., November 4 - 9:00 AM through Mon., November 7 - 6:00 AM
This closure is required for the bridge support concrete walls to be poured in conjunction with the ComEd bridge replacement project.
On Friday afternoon, November 4, DPM drivers will not be able to turn left (West) onto Deerpath Road following afternoon school pickup.
Drivers should allow extra time for travel during this road closure.
Please note that Deerpath Road is scheduled to reopen on Monday, November 7 at 6:00 AM. That time could move later, based on weather conditions over the preceding weekend. Dry conditions will allow the concrete to cure in time for 6:00 AM reopening of the road. Rainy conditions will require more time for the concrete to dry. We are collaborating with the City of Lake Forest to keep you informed.
