Mrs. Carrie Williams
Mrs. Carrie Williams is the receptionist, attendance clerk, and Varsity cheer coach here at FHS.
Ms. Carrie says, "My husband Rodney and I are the proud parents of 3 children. Trevor, a 2013 graduate of FHS; Noelyn, a 2016 graduate of FHS; and Tatum, a current junior at FHS. "
Ms. Carrie has a background in dance and fitness. She is a certified Zumba instructor and PiYo instructor and has taught fitness classes for over 10 years. When she isn’t teaching classes, coaching cheerleading or watching Tatum play sports, she runs many crazy races, bakes cakes and enjoys photography.
About returning to FHS, she says, "After being gone for a bit, I returned to FHS this school year and was excited to be given the opportunity to do so. The family atmosphere is something that cannot be replicated anywhere else and I am so happy to be back. "
Dear Parents,
Coming back from Fall Break and getting students refocused on what they hope to achieve, there’s no better time to encourage your child!
That’s why we’re motivating you to set SMART goals with your child to help them have a great year. Set SMART goals with your child with this activity guide.
What Are SMART Goals?
Effective goals are SMART — specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based. The more specific a goal, the better. SMART goals help your child to stay motivated and feel like their goal is easily obtainable.
Setting SMART Goals with your Child
You can help your child set SMART goals by talking with them about their lifelong goals. Connect those goals to actions they can take right now to put them on a path toward reaching them.
Provide guidance throughout the process, like giving advice on what their goal should look like. They also might need your help to turn their big, long-term goals into smaller actions they can complete this school year.
As you know, setting goals is a lifelong skill. We see how important it is for kids to not only set them but reach them every day. It gives them a sense of ownership and pride in their learning.
Try this activity with your child to work on goal setting together.
Sincerely,
John Lyons

Students needed to help with Creative Ideas for Second Street Corridor Streetscape
Students needed to serve on creative committee. DEADLINE to sign up Monday 10/28 at 3:00pm.
Frankfort Independent Schools wanted to make sure that students have a say in the streetscape design for this project, and have coordinated with local artists, teachers, and the TIGER project team to facilitate a few brainstorm meetings to gather your ideas.
Specifically, students will identify themes they want represented in the streetscape design and what public artwork students would want to see as representative of those themes. By completing this form, you (the student) indicate that you are interested in being on a team of students who will (1) meet with teaching artist, Jeri Katherine Howell, at FHS to review project details and identify theme and artwork ideas, and (2) attend 2 meetings at Second Street School with the TIGER landscape architect, David Whittaker, to present your ideas and ask any questions of the design team. Ms. Howell will contact you to schedule the first meeting. To learn more about the TIGER Project and stay up to date, visit the City website here: https://www.frankfort.ky.gov/558/TIGER-Project

Archery Team Members Needed, No Experience Required!!!
From Coach Looney:
We started practices yesterday and will typically practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Second Street Gym. That is subject to change based on special events, holidays, and my work schedule. (In particular, next week will be different due to a conference I have to attend and Halloween)
SSS 4th -8th grade - 2:45pm - 3:45pm
FHS 9th-12th grade - 3:45pm - 4:45pm
We are still accepting new members to the team, and in particular, need more High School Archers. They can be brand new to the sport, and don't have to have experience to join. Archery has to have 12 scores in each Division to get a team score in tournaments and currently we are a few short of that number. They actually take the best 12 scores out of up to 24 archers to calculate the team score. Boys and Girls are also needed to get a team score, can't be all one gender.
The school owns equipment, so you don't have to own a personal bow or arrows to participate.
Our first tournament will probably be November 23rd in Lexington, but that is not finalized yet, nor is the remainder of the season. Regional Tournaments are in February and State in March.
For more information they go to the Facebook group: Frankfort Panthers Archery
