What is Reading
Many parents say their children read beautifully. Being able to read the words in a smooth way refers to decoding and fluency. Reading is a multifaceted process involving word recognition, comprehension, fluency, and motivation. The most important goal of reading is understanding. Your child may be able to decode (read the words) fluently (in a natural smooth way); however are they able to fully comprehend a text?
