Onekawa School Newsletter

Week 6, Term 4, Friday 26 November

Principal's Message

Despite a rather stressful Sunday, we have had another fun week at Onekawa School!

Firstly, the great news is that the children who were close contacts of a Covid case have returned their second negative test and have remained in isolation. School is clear from any risk and we are back to normal again.

Secondly, I wish to say a MASSIVE thank you to my AMAZING staff for the way in which they have remained so calm and positive during this potentially stressful week. I am so proud of you all!

Thirdly, I wish to say thank you to you - the parents and community of Onekawa School. I have received so many positive messages from you... your support is much appreciated!

Apart from a higher absence rate than normal, school has been 'business as usual' this week. Children have been happy to be at school. Check out today's newsletter that shows some of the action from this week!

Have a fun weekend Whanau!

Nga mihi,

One of our Dads brought his TQ Midget Race Car to school this afternoon. Thanks Ryan!

'A picture tells a thousand words...'

I was out in the playground as the end of lunch bell rang yesterday. I spotted two seniors, Khloe and Ruby, walking one of our new entrants back to his classroom. I quickly snapped the photo below.

This is typical behaviour of our senior students. The care and kindness they show towards our younger students is wonderful. I often hear lovely recounts of similar stories. Ka mau te wehi! You are awesome!
