Breakfast with your child in the Media Center!

Join us in motivating and encouraging academic excellence in our students as we gear up for our End of Year assessments. Together we will kick off our Spring Break Reading Challenge!

Spring Break - April 21 - 25

Spring Break Reading Challenge

Reward Offered!

Spring is a time for growth, so let’s continue to grow readers. Each teacher will be issuing a Spring Break Reading Challenge for their students, and the students who meet that challenge will be awarded a reading duck!

Parents

Take advantage of this opportunity to write a personal card of encouragement to your child and his/her class to help prepare them to do their best on their End of Year Assessments. Send your card to school with your child to be read and displayed in our hallways. Other family members are welcome to participate in supporting our kids.

Proctors Needed

We are in need of proctors for our End of Grade (EOG) assessments for grades 3 - 6. EOGs will be given the week of May 12-16. Normally, exams are 8 am to 12 pm. If you would be willing to help on any (or all) days during EOGs, please contact Becky Beamguard (becky.beamguard@yadkin.k12.nc.us) to volunteer.

Staff Appreciation Week

Throughout the week of April 14 - April 18, Courtney will be celebrating our support staff, which includes the ladies in the office (Tonya Shumate and Susan Macemore), our guidance counselor (Annette Bernhardt), our social worker (Barbara Moore) and our custodial crew (Wayne Gardner and Candi Mickles). Stop by and let them know how much they mean to the students and families of the Courtney Community!

The week of May 5-9 is School Nutrition Employee Week. Without these dedicated ladies, our students would not be able to focus! Please express your thanks for all that they do to keep our students fed!
