Les Mis'
I wanted to congratulate Kristen Brenneman on a job well with planning for the 7th grade field trip to see Les Mis' this past Friday. There are a lot of steps and details involved with planning for a field trip this big. Our students behaved well and it was a great cultural experience for them. Thank you to Rosalie, Julie, Brett, and Denise for chaperoning. Great job!
Congratulations Coach Hilvers
Wilson Middles School's Social Science teacher, Ms. Hilvers, was honored as Central Sequoia's Coach of the Year this year. Congratulations Coach Hilvers for your great achievements with EUHS's varsity volleyball team. The games were fun to watch!
Pancake Breakfast
Tomorrow, November 21st we will be hosting our annual Pancake Breakfast where we honor and give thanks to our students by preparing them a pancake breakfast in the morning. Mark has been busy planning and preparing for the event. Tables will be set up outside the cafeteria near the plaza, and when students arrive in the morning, they can pick up some pancakes and enjoy eating them in the plaza. It's a wonderful gathering of students, staff, and parents.
Staff Christmas Party
December is just around the corner! We will be having our annual Staff Christmas party on Friday, December 9th at the Lunch Box in Visalia from 6-8. This is a wonderful event for our staff and their families to enjoy together. Invitations will be coming out soon.
Benchmark Assessments
Benchmark assessment week is the week of December 12th-16th. Please make sure that you schedule the administration of your benchmark(s) so that students will complete the assessment(s) prior to going on Winter Break. I recommend you begin your assessments early in the week (Monday or Tuesday) to ensure that all assessments are completed.
All scanning of answer documents into EADMS should occur by Wednesday, January 4th . For ELA 6th-8th grade, Sue will be creating your writing assessment answer document in EADMS so that you can input rubric scores of 1,2,3, & 4. These scores should also be in EADMS by the Jan 4th.
Special Thanks
As I reflect on this week's bulletin and the first half of the year, I'm reminded of the dedication and service that Wilson Middle School's staff exemplifies. There are so many activities and events that have been planned and provided by our staff for our students; tutoring and mentoring that has been provided by our staff for to our students; and an overall commitment that has been shared by our staff to our students's success, connectedness, and happiness. Thanks for all you continue to do each and every day to positively impact our students and school.
