4-H Four-cast

October 24-November 13

From the Educators

Hello, Jackson County 4-H Families!

We're in the peak season of enrollments, new volunteers, new members, and gearing up for 4-H 2022-23! With our STEP classes underway, club meetings reconvening, and our New Volunteer Orientation coming up on Nov. 1, there's nary a dull moment here at the extension center!

Keep working on getting re-enrolled or making sure your club members get re-enrolled and continue spreading the word about your club, about Interstate Exchange, about STEP Classes, and about all of the other great work 4-H is doing!

Quick enrollment tip: If you make a mistake matching the project to their club, you need to delete the project and try again! Also, don't edit your years in a project because it should automatically advance!

Since we're doing the newsletter on the 2nd and 4th Mondays, there will be a three-week period until the next one. During that time, Lena will be out of the office for most of this week and Steven will be out for Nov 3-13.

Cheers,

Lena and Steven

Recognition

Information for Everyone

Interstate Exchange Needs Boys!

The Interstate Exchange club is ready to get going, save one thing--they need boys! Any young men in 8th-11th grade are encouraged to join the Interstate Exchange club! Interstate Exchange does not take a lot of your time and can be a nice compliment to your other 4-H activities. We have monthly meetings and plenty of fundraisers to help with the cost of travel.

Historically, interstate exchange participants who participated in fundraising had the entire cost covered.

The next interest meeting is Nov. 2 from 6:30-7:30PM in the Extension Classroom! See the flyer below for more information.

Dog Trainer Looking for a Field

Earn Extra Money. I’m looking for a field to rent this winter (Nov-Feb or March) to run training drills with two retrievers. Low impact and quiet - would probably use 2-3 hours, 4 or 5 days a week. Prefer 10-20 acre fenced field in Talent or Phoenix area but willing to consider other options depending on location. Need mostly flat ground and mowed or partially mowed. Please contact me for more information: Margaret, 541-840-4311 or mhshasta@gmail.com

Goat Needs a Home

Widow needs to re-home a small, friendly, female, mixed-breed pet goat with mastitis issue. It's friendly with dogs! About 8yo. Feed, hay and meds included. For more info, please call Caramia 541-840-7730.
Our activities are open to all who meet the appropriate age requirement. Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made no later than five days prior to the event to Lena Hosking, 4-H Educator lena.hosking@oregonstate.edu
