Online gradebook
An updated and accurate grade book is an invaluable tool for all educators. It is expected that grade books will be updated on a weekly basis. Please perform a gradebook report on PowerSchool each Friday to ensure grades are not lost when report cards go out. TPS policy requires a minimum of:
· 2 grades per week for Reading
· 2 grades per week for Math
· 1 grade per week for Social Studies
· 1 grade per week for Science.
· 4 grades per quarter for Specials subjects
· Grades from library projects will be infused into the grade book of the subject it is covering as needed.
Have a GREAT WEEK! You are the best of the best, and I am blessed to be with such great professionals like YOU! This is the best school in the nation! Make sure to wear jeans on Tuesday if you have read this. ;-)
Y ustedes son...

Teacher of the Week
El Orgullo de Zarrow
Sra. Aubert!!!!!!!!!! You get the Principal's parking space for the entire week. (I'll do this for everyone when it's your week.)
Although this is a random drawing I'd like to point out this teacher's strengths. Sra. Aubert was one of the teachers, if not the first teacher, I met at ZIS. She had come in early while Sra. Wester was still taking me through the processes of ZIS. I met her and heard about her family visiting from Cuba. Although there was a lot of laughter about how full her house was, I saw immediately her love for her family. As I have had the privilege of working with Sra. Aubert it is has been so wonderful to see that same love expressed for her students, fellow teachers, and through her passion of teaching. I absolutely love to watch her students in Math class as they solve complex math problems en español. They are always excited while learning and that makes my heart smile. One day I had come into her class and laid on the floor with some of the kiddos as they taught me what they were learning. Shortly afterwards, Sra. Aubert came in and laughed because I was on the floor...only for me to get up a minute later to see her on the floor with the children. I could see that, overall, the students were HAPPY to be in class and HAPPY with learning. Sra. Aubert literally met the students where they were both academically and physically. :-) This type of relationship helps students lower, what educators call, the affective filter. Students feel more at ease in their learning environment and are, therefore, able to retain more of the teacher's input. Everyone likes to feel at ease and I applaud Sra. Aubert for building such a professional, yet relaxed environment in her class.
Sra.
