As we discuss and create, please keep in mind our 4 questions:
- What do we want all students to know and be able to do?
- How will we know if they learn it?
- How will we respond when some students do not learn?
- How will we extend the learning for students who are already proficient?
- ELA - What you are doing with identified groups? Work on creating or planning for that time. Please share your plan or creation with me.
- Math - What you are doing with identified groups? Work on creating or planning for that time (example...Matt Hudson is going to work on creating video for students). Please share your plan or creation with me.
- Science - Take the Science MAP test for about 30 minutes and then discuss the value and how you will utilize this data. Share your discussion points with me.
- Social Studies - Meet together and discuss how you are going to use ELA data in your instruction. Create two ideas you could implement in your classrooms and share them with me.
- Specials - Please review the 4 Questions and share with me a reflection on how you are answering these questions in your classroom.
2:00 - 2:30 - All staff will meet with Patty Ratliff and Michelle Kasten. They will be sharing what they learned at some recent training they received. It was focused on English Language Learners but what they found was that the strategies could be used for all learners and differentiation.
I will send an email on Thursday with details on how you will share with me.
We Need Your Feedback...
Thank you for your participation!
October 28th - Monster Mash
We are in need of some chaperones. Please let Lorinda Ottaway or Jimmy Brady know if you are available.
Please Announce to Students
Monster Mash
* On October 28th, the student council will be hosting a Halloween Dance in our middle school gym from 6 - 7 pm. See post above.
Intro to Color Guard
* Learn Flag basics from a guard member and find out if color guard is for you. For dates, please see flyer below.
Halloween
*Please let students know that costumes will not be allowed at school during the school day.
All Grades
* Snap-On Cases MUST be on computers at all times. If they do not have them on, warning first, then an after school detention, then up the discipline matrix. Why? The cases protect our warranty which is void if they are not on. This is new policy for us all. Please help me spread the word. If you have questions, please ask Rachel or myself.
What is happening in the classrooms?
6th Grade Science
Mrs. Starnes' 6th grade science classes are learning about non renewable resources. They had choice on how they presented what they learned and were offered flexibility in their seating and their resources.
7th Grade Science
8th Grade Math
Pizza with the Principal

Helpdesk - A reminder to please send your technology requests to helpdesk@cmfalcons.org. There is no need to send an email to helpdesk, Michael, and David. In fact, it makes it more confusing on their end as to who needs to provide support. They are making a concerted effort this year to be more timely and responsive to helpdesk tickets. The start of the year is always tough but as they fill out their Tech Team and the Oaks Interns, they need their process to be clear. Thank you for your attention to this.
