Bobcat Bulletin January 6, 2022
Where the Wild Things Are
Happy New Year! I would like to extend best wishes to everyone for a happy and healthy new year. It is a pleasure to see our students, teachers, and staff back at school after a long, well-deserved break.
The New Year traditionally starts with a New Year’s resolution. My hope is that this New Year will bring us renewed joy, prosperity, and academic success.
With the start of the new year, we have so much to look forward to in the upcoming weeks. Next week, students in grades 3-5 will “show what they know” and will be administered their quarter benchmark testing in Math, Science, and ELA. We will have our school wide Positive Behavior Support reward activity on February 3rd, 2022, to celebrate our accomplishments in quarter 2. As we continue our journey with the Leader in Me model, we will have our first ever parent learning event during our SAC meeting on January 18th, 2022. Please consider joining us at school at 7:15 am to discuss Habit #3, “Put First Things First.”
The New Year is also a great time to review important information:
· Please remember to contact our front office if there are any changes/updates to your address, phone numbers, or contact information.
· Dress code – please review the EPE dress code policy.
· Dismissal changes – please call the front office for any dismissal changes prior to 2:15 pm.
· Attendance is critical. Please ensure your child is on time, every day to school. Please call the front office if your child is going to be absent for the day.
As always, thank you for being a positive and supportive school community! It takes each of us to create a safe, successful learning environment for our students!
With gratitude,
Mrs. Anderson

Welcome Mrs. Guettler!
My name is Michele Guettler or Ms. G. I am the School Counselor here at Eden Park Elementary. We recently moved from Minnesota to Florida to be closer to our family. While we are escaping the cold, we will miss having fun in the snow. This is my 31st year in Education! I have taught Kindergarten to College aged students and am excited about my role as school counselor. Now that we are empty nesters, I am looking forward to spending time exploring new hobbies!
When I get 30 minutes of free time - I walk our dog (Rosie), or read (I listen to audiobooks on my drive in to work as well).
My dream - Becoming a Baker! I love the adventure of baking but it doesn’t always turn out as planned. There is something very satisfying about getting a bake wrong one time and then so right the next. Persistence is the name of the game! Both my daughter and I enjoy watching baking competitions.
I am thrilled to be here and I look forward to a great school year and getting to know all the wonderful people at EPE!

4. Please encourage your child to check lost and found in the cafeteria. There are many coats and sweaters accumulating due to the colder weather.
4. Attendance is important to us. Please manage your time so your child is on time each school day. Always call 377-9200 to inform us of your child's absence.

Living with Leader In Me
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Put First Things First means to decide what is most important and to take care of that first. Thinking about what needs to be done tomorrow or by the end of the week can be overwhelming, especially for children. Learning to think of which things are the most important and taking care of them first allows children (and adults) to be less stressed.
How Can You Work on this Habit at Home:
- Create a list of things your child needs to accomplish throughout a week. With your child, rank the tasks in importance. Then rewrite the list in order of importance. Use a planner or calendar to schedule time so that the important things are done first.
- Role-play with your child about the consequences of forgetting to study for a math test. How will your child feel? What are the consequences? Then role-play how it will feel to be well prepared and get a great match score!
