Math Intervention Expansion
I have the following teams on my list for expanding math interventions next year. If you do not see your team on the list and you have expressed an interest, I apologize for the oversight; please email me. We will have a meeting early in the year to kick things off. I will not be purchasing materials until we return from summer break, so if the thoughts for participation on your team change, you can let me know if you need to hold off.
Castlio: 1st and 3rd grades
Fairmount: Kindergarten
Henderson: 1st grade
John Weldon: 1st through 5th grades and SPED
Warren: Kindergarten through 5 grade
Science Grades 4-5
Science curriculums for Grades 4-5 were approved by the Curriculum Advisory Council last week and will go to the Board of Education this summer with an anticipated approval in July. I am adding a few suggestions from the CAC team today, and the links below will be ready this afternoon, considered in draft form until official approval. Fourth and Fifth grade teachers will have curriculum PD as indicated above. All sessions will be 8:30-3:30 with lunch on your own. Please use sub code 070 to secure your sub and note that locations are different for different days/teams.
Are you teaching math next year after some time not doing so??
I have had a few people contact me that will be teaching math next year after having been on a team that departmentalized. If you would like a refresher, I will be going through information with new teachers on July 30th 12:00-1:30 (with a brief science review 1:30-2:00). If you would like to attend, please email me so that I can be prepared with any materials and we have a space with enough room for everyone. Dr. Buckman is still working on finalizing locations, which will depend on numbers, so I can let you know the location closer to that day as well.
