Jaguar News
Volume 1, Issue 12 - November 3, 2017
As I visit with parents I continue to hear concerns about technology use and screen time. While digital devices at school are helpful tools, at home they can isolate kids and affect the family dynamics. Please, don't be afraid to set rules and limitations for kids at home. Each family needs to find the formula that works for them. But don't just limit media use; make sure you find activities to replace it and be creative about it!

We appreciate all of your support for our Jaguar Community!
From The Nurse
Thank you to the parents who helped with the flu shot clinic! Your presence and time played a big role in the success of the clinic and was greatly appreciated!!
Aside from the flu shot, handwashing (better than hand sanitizers) is the next best way to prevent getting the flu and other illnesses. Frequent hand washing washes away germs that are picked up from other people, contaminated surfaces, and animals.
- Germs enter our bodies when we touch our eyes, nose, and mouth with contaminated hands
- Wash hands before eating, after using the restroom, when hands are dirty, after touching animals, and after sneezing or coughing into hands
- Proper handwashing is: wet hands with warm water; apply soap; rub hands vigorously over all surfaces for 20 seconds; rinse hands well; dry hands with a paper towel and turn off water with towel
An ounce of prevention keeps the germs away!
Tardies by Numbers
One of the most important aspects of school is that is organized, scheduled, and predictable. Students depend on the structure of the day to be successful. When students are repeatedly tardy, these routines are disrupted and can have an impact on a child's feelings about school and their ability to be academically successful.
Attendance is one of the ways children show they can meet their obligations. In many cases, a child's attendance depends on their parents' ability to help them be on time. As parents, we ask you to help your children with organizational techniques that will help them get out of the house faster, such as packing their bags and laying out their clothes the night before school. But parents who drive their children must also remember to be punctual and responsible. After all, we, as adults, are our students' primary role model.
Thank you for partnering with us helping our students be on time!
Parent Teacher Conferences - Reminder
Don't forget Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for November 7th and 9th from 3:30-7:00 pm each evening. If you have not already received conference information, you should contact your student's teachers!
It's Getting Colder!
We know that with the weather changing mornings and evenings are often cool - or even cold. Please remember to send your student dressed in layers!
