A Little About Me!
History, Highlights, Hobbies, and Hopes
I grew up on a farm outside of Newberg, Oregon by the Champoeg State Park.
Summertime was full of BBQs, bike rides, and adventuring outside.
My dad, mom, brother and I would take an annual camping trip for a week during the 4th of July, which developed my love of camping and the outdoors.
Highlights (of my daily work)
I am a Reading Specialist for an elementary school in the Gresham-Barlow School district.
I have been teaching for 3 years and am currently working on earning my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Early Childhood. Along with my Masters, I am working towards my ESOL endorsement.
I love reading! I am passionate about my daily work and building reading skills with the most struggling readers in each grade level from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
Hiking, being outside, playing a variety of sports, and fishing are some of my active hobbies.
I love singing, playing card games and board games, and spending time with family.
My husband and I are going to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary this August.
I hope to gain more practical skills in using technology and various applications for my professional use and for students to use.
In a classroom that does not use technology often, I am hopeful to find opportunities as my knowledge and experience expands!
