Public Library Cards: Every Student needs one!
A Mid-Continent Public Library Access Pass (Library card) is the most versatile school supply a student could ever have! Now, every Park Hill School District student* has free access to the Library’s amazing online resources 24/7.
You can help your students begin using their Access Passes today!
The Park Hill School District has chosen a special format for Student Access Pass numbers, that gives access to Mid-Continent Public Library’s online resources:
“S” + student ID number (i.e. S12345)
By using their Student Access Pass numbers, your students can use the following at school or from home:
Online Resources: MCPL has more than 200 online resources that can be used for research, school projects, online learning, and more. In addition, students have access to Live Homework Help from Tutor.com, which is available in English and Spanish. When accessing any online resource on mymcpl.org, type in the student’s Access Pass number using the format above.
Digital Content: The Library provides a wealth of materials that can be downloaded or streamed, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMovies from OverDrive; eMagazines from RBdigital and Flipster; and eMusic from Freegal Music.
What if my students want to check out physical materials? Because of the agreement with the school district, only digital and online materials are available. Students start a traditional MCPL account on their own to check out physical materials from branches. Learn more.
What about when students aren’t in school? Students are encouraged to visit the Boardwalk Branch (8656 N. Ambassador Dr., Kansas City, MO), Parkville Branch (8815 Tom Watson Pkwy., Parkville, MO), Riverside Branch (2700 NW Vivion Rd., Riverside, MO 64150), or any MCPL location to participate in free programs and use public computer, the internet, and more!
Need help from MCPL staff? If you would like to have a Library staff member visit your school to answer questions and provide suggestions about resources for you and your students, please call one of these locations:
Boardwalk Branch — 816.741.9011
Parkville Branch — 816.741.4721
Riverside Branch — 816.741.6288
Need your own MCPL Access Pass? Because you work within the Library district, you are eligible for an Access Pass. It’s easy to apply at any branch or online at mymcpl.org/newcard.
Please share this important information with other teachers in your school so that all students have the opportunity to use the Library’s online and digital resources! We look forward to sending you monthly suggestions for resources and other information about Mid-Continent Public Library.
*All students are eligible for a student ID-based account unless their parents opted out during this year’s school registration.
From Ms. Andes, School Counselor...
Go to the link below to see information from Ms. Andes about the very important work she does with our Tiffany Ridge students! Her classroom lessons always focus on topics to support our learners!
Box Tops for Education
You might have noticed some changes with many Box Tops products you've purchased recently. Box Tops for Education (BTFE) is going digital! If you see the BTFE label on any products, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10 cents for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online. Just download the app, sign up for free, choose TIFFANY RIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, and scan away. Receipts need to be scanned within 2 weeks of purchase. BTFE is phasing out the traditional Box Tops clips, but you can still send them to the school and we can still get 10 cents for every Box Tops clip. Thank you for helping raise money for our students!
Watch D.O.G.S. at Tiffany Ridge
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is a family and community engagement educational initiative program that we have at Tiffany Ridge! Even though the program emphasizes Dads getting involved at school, ALL parents can be Watch DOGS, so Moms are welcome to sign up too! Sign up at the link below to be a Watch DOG at Tiffany Ridge!
Nominate a Staff Member for the Park Hill STAR Award
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee. Anyone can nominate an employee for this award by using the form below. It asks you to share how your nominee demonstrates our district values of continuous improvement, high expectations, integrity, visionary leadership and student focus. You can also share how your nominee supports the goals in our district’s strategic plan.
