Principal's Den
October is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we'd like to recognize all people affected by cancer. We are fast approaching the end of our first trimester. Soon we will be scheduling individual parent teacher conferences via zoom. It is important that you have regular communication with your child's teacher as we work together for student success. Make sure you are aware of the various intervention programs and tutoring opportunities that are available including Paper and FEV tutoring for our upper grade students.
Our PTA is planning to open our student store this coming Friday during lunch. Please make sure to give your students enough time in the morning if they are planning to have breakfast at school. Continue to remind your students to not play contact games including tag with other students and that they respect each others' space.
This Thursday we are joining millions of people in California as we participate in the Great California Shakeout. This is a drill for us to measure earthquake preparedness.
Please continue to follow all safety recommendations concerning Covid. If you are sick, experiencing any covid symptoms, or have been exposed to someone at home that has tested positive, it is very important that you remain home until you are feeling better. If you experience any covid-like symptoms please stay home and let us know. You will be asked to remain home and test on or after the 5th day, or you may choose to isolate for ten days and you no longer experience symptoms. If you have any questions, please contact our school office for assistance.
Let's make this our best year and as always, let's strive to be LEADERS BY EXAMPLE!
Thank you,
At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.
Our goal is to be college ready once we graduate from High School and that starts today!
Sincerely,
Genaro García
Principal
