More than a school, we are a family.
Our 2020-2021 theme is Anchored in Faith
A note from Mrs. Becker
Last week I shared a message from Fr. Luis telling us that he will be moving to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and School in Kissimmee. This week I want to take the opportunity to thank Father Luis for his time with us. He has made the school a priority in his ministry and has become an important member of our school family. In Joshua chapter 24 verse 15 we read, " As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." I am thankful that Father Luis has answered God's call to serve the Lord and follow the directions of the Bishop. Let us follow Father Luis' example and serve the Lord in our daily lives.
Again, Please join me in wish Fr. Luis well as he answers the Bishop's call and in welcoming Fr. Blake Britton and Fr. Tim LaBo. Let's share with Fr. Tim and Fr. Blake how blessed we are to have such an amazing St. Anthony Catholic School community! Please keep them all in your prayers.
Last week's message from Fr. Luis
"Grace and Peace of Our Lord be with you and your family during this Lenten Season!
Lent is the time when we reflect on God’s invitation for us to be faithful – faithful in all aspects of life, even in the most ordinary daily matters. What he hopes to get from us is a “Yes, a “Here I am,” a willingness to follow him on this pathway of discipleship wherever that might lead.
Today, with a certain sense of sadness, I want to share with you the news that Bishop Noonan has asked me to move to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and serve this new flock in Kissimmee, effective March 15th. I know I have been here at Saint Anthony for only over two years. However, as our bishop needs of my service elsewhere, and I am at peace to say: “Here I am”. As much as the pandemic has posed some major challenges for my tenure here at St. Anthony’s, it has helped me grow to love you as my brothers and sisters. You have become my family with whom I share the priesthood of Jesus Christ. As Bishop Noonan calls me to a new community, please be sure that I bring with me great memories of my time with you. I’d be so grateful for prayer for me as I begin this new chapter in my ministry. Be assured of my prayers for you as well. Fr. Tim LaBo, pastor at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland, will serve as Saint Anthony’s Pastoral Administrator. I am sure you will give him a warm welcome as you did for me. At the same time, I am also pleased to announce that Fr. Blake Britton will be coming as parochial vicar."

Terra Nova Testing
Terra Nova went very well. With the exception of a few make up tests we have completed testing for this year. We will have the results to share in late April or early May. Thank you to all virtual families for getting the students to school for testing in the afternoons!
Daily reading and practicing math facts is important for all students as we continue to improve our academic achievement.

Please continue to monitor your email for updates on when the income-based scholarship application will be available through Step Up For Students.
IMPORTANT:
- Both income-based scholarships are once-in, always-in programs meaning students who received scholarship funding through the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship or the Family Empowerment Scholarship for the current school year (2020-21) may be automatically eligible for a scholarship for the upcoming school year (2021-22) as long as an application is submitted for the 2021-22 school year.
