Twitter 101

Come and Learn
I want to encourage teachers to attend. Twitter is a great way to connect with educators around the world. I truly believe that as believers in Jesus Christ, we are missing a great opportunity if we don't engage the culture in this areana. This isn't about keeping up with family members, monitoring your son or daughter on social media, this is about spreading a message of hope to a hurting world.
As teachers and as followers of Christ, we have a message to share. You are doing amazing things in your classroom, and you shouldn't keep those things a secret. There is a very active community of teachers from around the globe using Twitter, and I want to show you how you can join them.
According to Statistic Brain, there are 115 million people who are active Tweeters each month. The Atlantic reported that Twitter is one of the tools used by ISIS in their reign of terror. If ISIS sees the value in Twitter, what are we missing?
So, what exactly is Twitter? How is it different from Facebook? While we're talking about it, what's a hashtag?
If you've wondered any of these questions, come Tuesday night. I'll give you a tour of Twitter, explain the language of Twitter, help you set up an account, and give you a few people to follow.
Feel free to bring your smartphone or laptop and play along.
