Set Them Free

In the year of 1820's a movement called Abolitionist movement was the movement to end slavery. This movement is a movement to fight for the right of African Americans for freedom and a start of being able to treat them like any other human being not like an animal. Slaves are beaten and killed for things that shouldn't be beaten and killed for. Be a leader like Fredrick Douglass, Douglass is an African American leader who freed slaves and began an anti-slavery newspaper called, North Star. The benefits of helping this movement is stopping slavery forever and giving African Americans a chance to be free for once.

Women Have The Right Too!

In 1848, the Women's Right movement started with more than 300 women protesting for their rights. This is a great movement for women who feel like they need a place to speak their minds out. A leader for this movement is Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott. These women fought for the right of the women and participated in the women rights convention in Seneca falls, New York. The benefits of this movement for women is speaking up and standing up for your self.

The Temperance movement was the movement to reduce the use of alcoholic beverages. This movement is a movement to join if you are against alcoholism and are wanting help to save a family member or a love one this is a movement to fight for. Mental Health/ Prison Reform

The Mental Health/Prison reform was held by Dorothea Dix. Dorothea Dix created the first american mental asylums. This is a movement to join if you have a loved one fighting in the Civil War and they come back with a mental health this is a place you are able to put them in.

Education is Knowledge, Knowledge is Freedom

The Education reform was a reform to improve public schools. This is a great movement to participate if you want public schools to teach your kids a better education and become someone in life. A leader for this education reform is Horace Mann who helped lay the framework for publicly funded education system.
