Student Opportunities
Juniors- If you want to attend or just want to hear about Boy’s State, Girl’s State or the Cadet Law program please join us January 26th in the Library. These programs are sponsored by the American Legion and the Women’s Auxiliary. Your one chance to attend is the summer between Junior and Senior Year!
Boy’s and Girl’s State- These programs are great opportunities for you to learn about state and local government. You will meet students from all over the state of Kansas. Attending these programs opens many other opportunities and looks great on your resume for scholarship applications. Lansing High School has a history of sending great leaders to these programs. We are known for having high participation rates as well and our local American Legion and Women’s Auxiliary do a fantastic job of supporting our students. Our students have held the highest offices and some return to be counselors and helpers year after year. Last year Austin Davis was the Governor for Boy’s State. 6-8 participants per year per program.
Cadet Law- This program is a great opportunity for any student who may have an interest in law enforcement, security, or other forms of personal protection. Once again, Lansing High School is known for sending great candidates. We have had several students return as the best shooters, drivers, and tactical students. 1-2 participants per year. There is room for more!
