Hydro tropisms- roots grow towards water

Positive taxis - all roots grow towards water.

Negative taxis- not all roots grow towards water.



Phototropism- plant grows towards the light.

Positive taxis- plant grows towards the light.

Negative taxis- plant does not grow towards light.


Geotropisms- plant is on its side then roots grow towards gravity and the stem grows away from gravity.

Positive taxis- plant roots grow towards gravity.

negative taxis- roots does not grow towards gravity.



Thigmotropism- plant grows due to touch.

positive taxis- plant grow on a wall.

negative taxis- plant touches wall the grows away from wall.

Turgor pressure- is water in a cell. Water forces force on to the cell keeping it standing up.

root wedging- when plant roots force itself in a solid to break the solid.

Geotropisms- A plant grows away from gravity.

Facts about plants

All plants are multi-cellular Eukaryotas of the kingdom Plantae.

The equation for photosynthesis is 6CO2 + 6H2O ------> C6H12O6 + 6O

All plants are autotrophic meaning they make their own food.
