Election Day Security
Our campus has been designated as an Election Day polling location, and we anticipate an influx of visitors on November 8. To ensure the safety and security of our students throughout the day, we have partnered with law enforcement officers to add additional security measures to monitor the campus.
The District organized extra security measures throughout Round Rock ISD with Round Rock Police, the Williamson County Sheriff's Department and the Austin Police Department to monitor the nine campus locations designated as polling locations by Travis and Williamson counties.
Round Rock ISD has historically hosted elections at its locations without impacting the school day and works with county elections offices to ensure a smooth process. It regularly works with law enforcement to proactively protect schools throughout the school year.
Thank you for supporting our students and school.
Respectfully,
Katrina Bailey, Principal

Meet our Staff
Mrs. Buchanan-4th Grade
I was born and raised in Austin. I attended Texas State University, and I completed a Bachelor's degree in English and a Masters degree in Elementary Education.
I live in Cedar Park with my husband and our two little boys, Brody (4 years old) and Grayson (2 years old). I love being outdoors and hiking, and I also really enjoy cooking new recipes. My husband and I love trying new restaurants and going to concerts as well. I love being a part of Caraway, and teaching is my passion and gift.
I graduated from Texas A&M University (Gig'em!) with my degree in Elementary Education and began my teaching career in Spring, Texas in Kindergarten. After my 2nd year of teaching my husband and I moved to Austin where I taught Kindergarten at Forest Creek Elementary in Round Rock for several years before staying at home with our 2 daughters. This will be my 5th year of teaching and I am so excited to have your child in my class this year!
I have been married to my husband, Jeff, for 14 years. We have 2 precious daughters, Aubrey and Brooklyn, who will be Caraway Owls this year in 3rd and 1st grade! We love to watch Aggie Football and go camping together. There's always a stack of books by my bed and I love to cook.
I also love teaching Kindergartners. They are bright-eyed, excited, eager to learn, and I love watching them grow. My goal is to create a classroom community where everyone is valued and welcomed and where the students are engaged in meaningful, collaborative learning. It will be a busy, but FUN year and I can't wait to get started!
Turkey Trot
The Turkey Trot Challenge has returned and will be here soon! So, get out your walking/running shoes and join your child during their PE time on Friday November
18th!
The classes with the most points will win a fabulous prize - LUNCH WITH Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Solis (BYOL - Bring Your Own Lunch)! There will be a K-2 Winner and a 3-5 Winner! Winners are decided based on class average (to account for larger and smaller classes).
How can you help your child’s class win? Here is the breakdown of points your class can earn -
1 point per lap each student finishes
2 points per lap each parent finishes (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc. over 18 years)
3 points per homeroom teacher lap - Homeroom teachers are only allowed ONE lap per class (to ensure time for conferencing, grades, etc.)
*Each class is able to write letters to invite faculty/staff members to participate for their
class. Each one of their laps count as 3 points, so make sure to write letters to our wonderful staff members without homerooms!
