Rated a "Performance School" by the Colorado Department of Education!
We are excited to announce that we once again have been rated a "Performance School" by the Colorado Department of Education!
Understanding Your School's Performance Based on CMAS Scores
Dear Parents,
We want to provide you with a clear understanding of what it means for our school to be designated as a Colorado Department of Education performance school based on CMAS scores. CMAS stands for the Colorado Measures of Academic Success, which are statewide assessments designed to measure students' understanding and mastery of key academic subjects.
What Does "Performance School" Mean?
When our school is referred to as a "performance school," it indicates that our students' performance on the CMAS assessments has been analyzed and evaluated by the Colorado Department of Education. This evaluation helps us gauge how effectively our students are mastering the required knowledge and skills in various subjects.
The Importance of CMAS Scores
CMAS scores provide valuable insights into how well our school is supporting your child's education. These scores allow us to identify areas of strength and areas that may need improvement. By using the data from CMAS assessments, we can make informed decisions about curriculum, teaching methods, and resources to better meet the needs of our students.
How Are CMAS Scores Used?
The Colorado Department of Education uses CMAS scores to assess the overall performance of schools across the state. This assessment helps categorize schools into different performance levels, including Performance, Improvement, Priority Improvement, and Turnaround. Our school's "performance school" designation indicates that we have achieved a certain level of proficiency in terms of student performance on these assessments.
What Does This Mean for Your Child?
As a parent, you can use CMAS scores to gain insights into your child's academic progress. These scores can help you understand where your child excels and where they might benefit from additional support. It's important to note that CMAS scores are just one aspect of your child's education, and they are not the sole measure of their abilities.
Our Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Being designated as a performance school is a testament to the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. It also reflects our commitment to ongoing improvement. We analyze CMAS scores and other data to identify areas where we can enhance our teaching methods and provide targeted support to students who may need it.
If your child took the CMAS test with us last year, we will be sending our their personal report in the coming weeks.
Thank you for all you do as parents to continue to support our staff and the success of your students.

If you park on the west side of Zuni St, please walk your student to the crosswalk. Our amazing Ms. Veronica will safely walk your student across the street.
Sherrelwood Dr.:
Please pull to the sides to drop off your students. The students must walk to the crosswalk. Our wonderful Ms. Debbie will safely help your students cross the street. Also, please do not block our neighbors driveways.
Bus Lane:
Parents, please do not park/drop off/pick up students inside the bus lane.
Parking Lot:
Please do not park behind parked cars in the parking lot. In case of an emergency, we must have clear access. This will also clear the parking lot for parents that are coming into the parking lot. As a courtesy, please do not lean on parked cars.
