What We Did...
On Thursday, we started the day with our arrival routine. We put our backpacks on our hooks, put our folder in our mailbox, answered the question of the day and began our morning work. This week we had some coloring pages to start the day!
We also got in a little movement and dancing by introducing GoNoodle. This is a website that has many guided dance videos that the students follow. The class picked a character or champ to help us with our movement breaks (Bart Reynolds in the morning and Squatchy Berger in the afternoon).
Another activity we did on Thursday to get to know our classmates was Find Someone Who Likes To. We walked around the classroom introducing ourselves to our classmates and learned about some of the things our new friends like to do. It was fun to find other people in our class that have some of the same hobbies we have.
On Friday, we started our day with specials. In music, we met Miss Clark. In PE, we met Mrs. Weber. When we returned from specials we completed Calendar. Then, we wrote a goal for the year on a gold medal that will be displayed near the gym with the goals of all the Goodrich students.
After snack, we played a game where we each got a card with a picture of an animal on it. We kept our animal a secret from our classmates until the game began. Then, we walked around the classroom making the animal's sound in order to find other classmates with the same animal. Once we found our group we got to introduce ourselves and talk about our favorite animal.
We also played a game called, Rabbit Hole. It was difficult to find out how many students could fit in the rabbit hole without knocking it over! We really had to work as a team to carefully get in!
