8th Grade Planning Conferences

Planning Today for Tomorrow's Success

Now is a great time to start thinking about high school...and beyond!

8th grade students are coming to the pivotal point in their academic year where they start to think about the transition to high school. They've also had the opportunity to do some foundational career exploration and future planning through the ACP (Academic and Career Planning) course.

Black Hawk Middle School

What information is discussed?

Planning conferences are not like a typical academic Parent/Teacher conference. The focus is on the student's personal learning about career exploration, goal-setting, and plans for the high school transition. The student is present at this conference and is able to reflect on his or her learning while showcasing an important portfolio artifact.
