Sandpiper Elementary School Update!
December 8, 2023
Dear Sandpiper Families,
Another huge thank you and shout out to our amazing SPES PTO for hosting the SPES movie night last Friday. Unfortunately I was feeling under the weather and could not be there, but I understand that many of our families were able to make it out to the event. Fortunately a wet field from the rain the night before could not stop a fun event like this from taking place thanks to the basketball courts! It figures that one of the few days that we get rain in the Valley would happen then! We definitely appreciate all of the effort and hard work that PTO puts in behind the scenes to make events like this take place, and we also appreciate your generous donations to our PTO during Giving Week to allow them to have the funds to make such events happen.
Congratulations to our chorus students who participated in the Sounds of the Season event at Desert Ridge Market Place on Saturday. Again, being under the weather last weekend, I was unable to attend, but what a fantastic event for not only Sandpiper, but also for PVUSD choir students as a whole, to showcase their hard work and talents. In addition to this, what an amazing job our band students did at their SPES band concert this past Tuesday! It is so much fun watching our students perform in their extra curricular activities. Speaking of extra curricular activities, our boys participating in Let Me Run are up to running 3 miles in preparation for their December 17th 5k. Amazing! I exhausted myself just typing, "running 3 miles," let alone actually running 3 miles!
Again, with the holiday season in full swing and the end of the first semester shortly upon us, please be sure to check in with your students as well as with family and friends, in addition, of course, to taking care of yourself. In addition to asking your students about school and their school work, please make sure that you routinely check Infinite Campus to monitor their progress in school, and please reach out to their teacher(s) if you have questions or concerns.
Have a great weekend and a great week ahead, Super Estrellas.
Principal, Sandpiper Elementary School
HOLIDAY ANGEL TREE
We have set up a Holiday Angel Tree in the front office. The wishes are from 3 different Sandpiper Families whom we hope to help this holiday season. If you'd like to take a wish off the tree, please do so and let me know which one you took. I'm tracking the information. We need all items turned in by December 20th so that we can get them to the families. Let me know if you have any questions.
We appreciate your support!
Mrs. Denise Koerperick

I have been seeing a few kiddos with casts, boots, crutches, and splints. Just a reminder, if your child has an injury and should be excluded from physical activity, please let me know and bring in a doctor's note. I want to help keep all the kids safe here.
