Digital Citizenship is, the proper using of any technology. In this flyer you will be learning about Digital Etiquette, Information Privacy, Social Networking, Online Safety, Cyberbullying, Plagiarism, and Copyright. Why is it necessary for everyone to understand and display positive Digital Citizenship practices?

It is necessary for you to understand and display positive Digital Citizenship because sometimes you may say something rude and lose some friends, you may end up getting sued and going to court, and you may get cyberbullied a few times. Learning these rules are very important so pay very close attention.

Rules about Digital Citizenship

  1. Be kind: Don't say anything you wouldn't do in your real life.
  2. Never post any of your personal info: Some people online may hack your email address and use it to send out spam.
  3. You shouldn't post anything you don't want your parents,teachers,friends,etc. to see: If your don't want the closest people in your life to see things you post you most likely will not want anybody online to see.
  4. Keep your identity a secret: When you are creating a username try not to put your real name in it.
  5. Never fight back when you are being bullied: they cyber bully may just want to egg you on.
  6. Do not copy something directly from the resource you used: You should paraphrase it and give the author credit.
  7. Do not take someone's work without asking permission: You could get sued and go to court.
