Happy Friday, Lil Steamer Families!

August 9, 2018

Welcome!

Welcome to the first publication of our Happy Friday, Steamer Families newsletter! Here you will find upcoming events, see amazing things that our students are doing, and keep up-to-date with what's going on at Fulton Elementary School!

From the desk of: Principal Hoese

Hello, #SteamerNation! To say I am excited for the upcoming school year would be a tremendous understatement! I am a Fulton Steamer through and through, as I attended elementary, middle, and high school (Class of 99) in our community. Furthermore, I began my teaching career at Fulton High School and remained there before becoming the elementary school principal. And, just to provide a little info my educational background, I completed an Associate of Science degree at Sauk Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashford University, a Master of Education in Integrating Technology in the Classroom degree from Walden University, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree from American College of Education.

As I created my Principal Entry Plan for the upcoming school year, there are three core educational values that I have:

  1. RELATIONSHIPS MATTER
  2. STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING
  3. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

I will elaborate on each of these points in future newsletters. As for now, I'll keep the first newsletter short and sweet as to not provide an information overload!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

A Splash of Color

Fulton Elementary School received a fresh coat of light gray paint this summer through the efforts Regina Dixon. Fulton High School senior Katie Grant has volunteered her time and talents to FES to begin painting murals in the building. You can see the newly painted gray walls as well as Katie's artwork titled "Open Your Mind" located in the north hallway!
